Today is a different message, I am not going to talk about ChaLEAN Extreme or P90X - I watched a video by Jonathan Budd who is a very successful young guy. Not just financially but in his spirit. I was truly motivated by his message and wanted to share it with others.
This is his video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYr8TBMJbZk
As usual I got talking because I am very passionate about life and the energies around us. I in no way consider myself an expert because every day is a growing experience. You can learn from anything and everything if you live with an open mind. A blossoming flower to an outwardly appearing "dead" leaf - Everything has a lesson to teach if you leave yourself open for the lesson.
Be free of your mind and your wasteful thoughts - We all live a constant dialogue in our own minds. Through practice and consciousness you can learn to control and quiet the wasteful thoughts and channel this energy in ways you never imagined.
Be Free.

Ready to get in Shape?
Let's first realize what needs to be done then we will talk about Team Beachbody and how P90X (PX90) can get you there. But first…
It's time to stop making excuses and step forward by taking the actions necessary to reaching your goals. You will not get in shape and get the body you want by watching E Channel's Top 25 Hott bodies. I know we are all guilty of wanting something so badly but you never actually do anything about it.
I spent a year having P90X in my possession but did nothing about it. I talked to people around me and told everyone how I wanted to get in shape. Did I do anything about it? No. For some reason it's a lot easier to talk about it than actually make that decision to Push Play. You need to be of the mindset that you will complete this no matter what.
*For those that don't know what P90X is - P90X is a home workout boot camp with 12 different DVD's that focus on all aspects of fitness; Resistance, Cardio, Stretch, and Intervals - Mind, Body, and Soul. One day you lift heavy, the next day you punch and kick with Kenpo, and another day you are pushing your boundaries with Yoga.
P90X is broken into 3 Phases - 30 days each. Every phase mixes up the DVD's and brings a new challenge so you don't get bored and you never stay fully adapted to the workouts. Keep in mind you can use Bands in place of weights and a chin up bar, you can modify moves to adapt to your level, you can pause the videos to recover - You are really left with no valid excuses. Do it!
You know, I had not worked out in over 4 years. I had spent that time getting out of shape sitting in front of my computer - I played World of Warcraft and drank beer. I had an amazing experience with so many interesting people, I regret nothing. But I lacked the mindset that I could do this. One day I decided no more, I hit play and never looked back. I didn't spend time planning it out or thinking about 90 days. I just hit Play and Did It.
Sometimes it's about locking down your life and getting your focus back. P90X is not the only one answer but it IS a tool that will get you to where you want to be. A lot of things work out there, but it is only through your own "doing" that the results are achieved.
Let me ask you this - Were you in shape before? Do you remember how you felt?
If Yes, Do something about it! It's that simple. All you have to do is Push Play.
Have you always been overweight and want something to change?
You can make this happen, I promise you! It starts by loving yourself for who you are now. Without that love for yourself you will always want something different. I am not saying you have to love being overweight, but you have to love the being that you are. You are life and you are Beautiful!
Now take that energy and focus it. Use P90X as the tool to achieve your Fitness desires!
If your excuse is that P90X is to difficult, try something less intense. Start with One on One with Tony Horton, try 10 Minute Trainer, Hip Hop Abs, Turbo Jam, Chalean Extreme, whatever you need to do. What matters is that you start somewhere!
Those that take action today will achieve the results they desire tomorrow. Those that dream about results but hesitate will only ever dream of their results. Who are you?
Follow me on a journey in 90 days. Imagine yourself with that sleek, ripped, defined body you always wanted. Do you see it? Live it!
I will be your Fitness Coach and Your wall to lean on - Together in life we Empower each other to reach within and channel our energies. Never hesitate to use me - I chose to become an Independent Beachbody Coach for the simple fact that I want to help others get in shape. It has been more than just that though - I have found new meaning in myself and have channeled all of my energy on achieving the unachievable. Every day is a precious gift to live and to experience life - No matter how dark and bleak it may seem.
Start P90X and come with me on a journey to change your life forever - Promise Yourself.
Imagine how good you will feel - Picture all of the compliments from people who watched you transform.
You can do this - It's all about finding the mindset that You Will Do This and that you Truly want to change. Love yourself now and you will Love yourself Always - Start P90X.

You read the title right - I was really starting to miss P90X in my life so I did something crazy. I started P90X Round 2 {Day 1} on ChaLEAN Extreme Round 1 {Day 22}! I actually found that each program goes hand in hand when placed next to each other. Granted I am nearly 1/3 of the way through ChaLEAN, but that's OK.
I won't actually complete a full run through P90X Round 2 because I plan to start a dedicated "P90X Reloaded" phase after ChaLEAN. Setup kind of like the ChaLEAN Team Xtreme Skype Group we have going but for P90X. I'll explain more in coming months so you can get involved!
This is what my new Routine looks like without looking at the P90X Rest week. Keep in mind I am doing P90X "Classic". Also, I am spreading out my P90X workouts and ChaLEAN Extreme workouts by at least 2 hours in the day.
- Day 1: P90X Chest and Back - Ab Ripper X - ChaLEAN Burn Circuit One
- Day 2: P90X Plyometrics - ChaLEAN "Day Off"
- Day 3: P90X Shoulders and Arms - Ab Ripper X - ChaLEAN Burn Circuit Two
- Day 4: P90X Yoga X - ChaLEAN Burn Intervals - ChaLEAN Ab Burner
- Day 5: P90X Legs and Back - Ab Ripper X - ChaLEAN Burn Circuit Three
- Day 6: P90X Kenpo X - ChaLEAN Burn it Off - Recharge
- Day 7: REST!
Repeat Week 2, 3, etc....
Obviously every week is not like this but I wanted to show you how well each program compliments each other when placed side by side. You never work the same muscle group two days running, this allows for ample recovery time and IMO, maximum results!
Of course, a program like this will require a lot more time and a huge Calorie requirement - I am aiming to consume at least 2800 calories upwards to 3800 a day! Keep in mind I don't have any more weight to lose after my first round of P90X. I simply want bulk muscle.
I am what you would consider a "Hard Gainer", meaning I have to work constantly to Build and Retain muscle mass. When I was 18 I designed my own resistance training diet along with the "Body Pump" routine. In 12 weeks I was able to gain upwards to 15 pounds on my 5'8 frame in solid muscle and was pressing 200 pounds (6 reps) when I weighed 165 pounds. It is my goal to return to that weight level.
I will stick as close to my new Hybrid Schedule as possible - Expect some serious Results! I know I do :).
I was going to do a ChaLEAN Extreme Day 20 Update but I decided it couldn't wait - So here is my Day 19 Update :)
Things have still been flowing pretty smooth with ChaLEAN - I have really cracked down on the forms and learned to maximize each move. I also cranked my weight ahead on my Select Techs for each position at least 2.5 pounds up to 5 pounds on some. I definitely feel stronger in my back and shoulders and have noticed results mostly in my Deltoids.
I have not been very good at taking pictures as I have progressed through ChaLEAN - Not like P90X where I took pictures every day to every couple days. But in the same token I don't expect as much of a transformation as I have already completed P90X pre-ChaLEAN. The only thing that can change now is maybe a loss of 1% body fat and some bulk.
Don't get me wrong though, it will happen! Push phase is phase 2 of ChaLEAN focuses on slow, controlled, isolated reps of at least 6 and no more than 8.
Low reps like that means huge muscle burn and therefore some good mass as long as the diet accompanies. I will be adding calories probably in the range of 2500-3000 in Phase 2 - I will also focus directly on my Protein intake equally - no less than 140 grams and upwards to 175 grams.
** I complete my first Coaching Broadcast and everything went well - I had 5 Viewers and some great questions. I plan to make this a weekly thing to help educate anyone interested in Coaching all about the program. It's not my goal to sell anything but more to the fact to attract those who are really of the mindset for success. Those are the people that will automatically join without me having to sell anything. It's those motivated and driven people that I want on my team of Coaches - Alone we can try but Together we Will Succeed!

Two Weeks!?
Absolutely - ChaLEAN Team Xtreme is now 2 full weeks underway and we are bringing it more than ever! I am loving the ChaLEAN program more and more as time goes on.
My first week was a little slow and I wasn't sure what to think - That was mainly because the forms were different and the whole program is a different style than P90X. Each are intense in their own right but they vary in how the intensity is Displayed.
I really recommend if you have not started a fitness program and you want something pretty intense - Start out with ChaLEAN Extreme. But absolutely without a doubt make sure you study and practice the forms first. It's pointless to jump into the program with a Superman/ Superwoman Complex. There is no need to get injured!
My Diet has been the biggest struggle of them all - I don't eat bad really, but I don't eat enough. You really need to make sure that you eat plenty of high quality foods. "Mich's Ladder" is a great reference when putting together your shopping list.
My biggest problem is budgeting for Groceries. I don't seem to leave myself with enough to buy bulk which of course is your best option. I tend to nickle and dime myself each day, I eat good, but I could eat a lot better if I had tons of selections at home. The thing is you do what you can do. I live a pretty busy weekend Thur-Sun as a Server at Red Robin, this does not leave me much time to eat so I have to compromise and fill in with healthy snacks (Oatmeal, Power Bars, Naked® Drinks, etc.). For anyone that is or has been a server you know exactly how hard it is to get a good meal in. You just simply do not get Breaks.
It's OK though, I look at Red Robin as my buffer to get my general daily bills out of the way - Being an Independent Beachbody Coach is my real deal, though it does take time to build a successful business. I will tell you that I have already found success and Truthfully I will be set free from my Corporate job within 3-6 months.
The window of possibility has opened for me through hard work and dedication - You can manifest your own Success too. Dream Yes, but make sure to "Do" more than you "Dream""Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out."

*** Get Into our ChaLEAN Team Xtreme Skype Group - Currently Comprised of three members we would love to grow! It doesn't matter if You haven't started, if you are on the same day, or if you are already a ways into ChaLEAN. ChaLEAN Team Xtreme is all about Group Support and Accountability! Hello there - Yet another day is complete in my ChaLEAN Extreme Journey. Today was Day Six which was comprised of a 30 minute Cardio Workout very Similar to Tony Horton's PlyoMetrics from P90X (PX90) though this is much shorter! You do a lot of jumping and fast paced movements but it really is a lot of fun! You work really hard and You will absolutely sweat but Chalene Keeps everything Interesting, Intense, and High Energy. I can't help but get pumped to workout every time I get to the main menu of each ChaLEAN Disk.
The Second part of Day 6 Involves a "ReCharge" 20 minute stretch video - This is very similar to P90X's Yoga though it is Much Much Much shorter and throws some variations on each move. It's a nice change of pace to do the shorter video though at the same time I am very happy to welcome Yoga back into my Fitness.
Flexibility and Center of One's Mind are very crucial components to a successful life - Not just in fitness but in Your entire life. Learn Your Boundaries but at the same time realize they are not limits but just Doors To Open!
My first day left me a little unsure as to my impression of ChaLEAN - Mainly due to the new moves and my lack of knowing the forms. I spent most of the time attempting to pull off each move without hurting myself more than effectively doing the workout. That was my first day - It Got Better though and now it's really coming together.
Once You learn the forms and understand the mechanics of each move it makes it much easier to maximize the effectiveness to achieve muscle burn. The Key is to lift heavy and Burn Early - Burn phase is all about conditioning and reaching complete muscle failure by 10 and no more than 12 reps. I am interesting in reaching the Push Phase which is the 30-60 day mark in the program. In "Push" it's all about lifting heavy enough to reach full muscle failure by 6 and no more than 8 reps! Low Reps mean A LOT more weight - Heavier weight = Increased Muscle Density and Strength.
It's true - "Muscle Burns Fat"!

I have completed my First Day of ChaLEAN Extreme and so far so good - It's a bit different than P90X (PX90) but it's a nice alternative. Learning the form was a little interesting and that will take another week or so - I am excited to see how the next 90 days unfold - Enjoy the video!
This is a quick after thought I posted in the Live ChaLEAN Xtreme Team Skype Group (Conact me if you want to get involved)

This will be short but I couldn't wait to post.
In just One Hour I will be starting my first day of ChaLEAN Extreme. I have been Eagerly awaiting the start of this program ever since I completed my First Round of P90X on March 8th, 09. It is going to be interesting to compare both programs and I wonder which will be my favorite. Right now I am absolutely in Love with P90X and everything that it does. I got some amazing results simply by bringing it nearly every single, I ate clean, and I stayed dedicated.
ChaLEAN Extreme is broken into Three Phases:
Burn
You lift no more than 10-12 Reps reaching a Burn in the last 2-3 Reps. The idea here is conditioning and getting ready for phase 2!
Push
Here is the real stuff - In Push you lift no more than 6-8 reps, You want to pick a weight that is heavy enough to give you that burn without exceeding 8 reps. This will really focus on those Type 2 Muscles and really help stimulate Muscle Fiber Growth!
Lean
In the "Lean" phase you return to 10-12 reps and focus more on Interval Cardio with Resistance training. This will really help burn off that fat now that you have built strong Lean Muscle in Phase 1 and Phase 2.
I will be updated later today after I complete Day 1 of ChaLEAN including a Video Log - Make sure to check back tonight!

I only had a set of 10 lb and 15 lb free weights to get me through the program so the results speak for themselves. With even light weights you can achieve great results! You can notice how it slowed down for me once I adapted fully to the weight I had available - Day 60 to 90 didn't change much in numbers though I did get A LOT stronger.
I now have a set of BoFlex Selectech's so I feel very confident that a second round of P90X will produce drastic results. Over all though I did lose 4.75" off my body in fat and gained 1.5" in muscle. My biggest goal was to lose body fat and that was defintely achieved - I had a total reduction of about 2.5% body fat with P90X (PX90).

It's as though a New Holiday has Arrived!
I came home today after a visit to the Lee County Tax Collectors office (I had to get my new FL license and replace my old Maine'r ID) and near the right side of the front door was a box. I knew what it was because I had been following the tracking information every 5 minutes =). I quickly snatched it up and opened up the box to find a huge amount of material to go over. To my surprise the kit also includes a Fat Caliper! I am very excited because now I can follow my fat % loss as well as my muscular gains.
I went through the main guide which describes the idea of lifting heavy because "Muscle Burns Fat". That seems to be my new 3 words of the next 90 days. P90X (PX90) was all about "Bring It" and I did, I saw some incredible results, but most of all I feel so much better than 90 days ago.
It seems ChaLEAN is another 90 day program which is great, I love having a structure, and I love how the Beachbody programs break it all up in 30 day phases. ChaLEAN and P90X seem identical when it comes to the Phases. However, they each go about getting you in shape and ripped in different ways (Expect a comparison as I get into the ChaLEAN program).
I did notice that ChaLEAN Extreme focuses on 5 days a week of work and then 2 rest days. Where P90X was 6 days a week followed by 1 rest day. I have been floating around the idea of Yoga X or Ab Ripper X on one of the off days to add some extra intensity. Only time will tell.
I am going to put out a video describing the system and what I understand from reading the Manual. I also want to review the intro video which explains the methodology and form techniques for the 90 day journey.
ChaLEAN Team Xtreme will be getting started on March 19th. Chaz and I put together the idea of having a Support team of anyone that wants to get onboard. We will all be on the same days or as close as possible. We have a Skype Group Chat that is live and if I get enough people there will be a Myspace and Facebook group also. Share Tips, Tricks, Experience, and Advice to help keep each other motivated and on track towards success! Contact me to find out more.
Ask yourself this - Are you ready to get Xtreme Results?
-Jason
aka BetterBody90
I know the headline may be a little weird and seem unrelated to my P90X journey - But it really is. By "Seriously" I mean, "Has it Seriously been 90 days already?" The time flew by and my dedication has paid off! It's like a "Magic Mirror" because it's as though I stepped through the mirror of time to reveal the results I envisioned! In just 90 days I went from out of shape computer nerd with no real outlook to a super transformed being with complete purpose and drive for life.

I will tell you more about my new purpose in a bit, but for now lets talk about P90X.
After all, I have made it 90 days with very little interruption and it shows! When I started this program I had one goal in mind - That was to complete the program and get in the best shape of my life. Isn't that your goal? Isn't that the goal of anyone attracted to such an intense program?
I will tell you this, if you are new to P90X, if you are reading this because you want to learn more, if you are just researching to find real people with real results, you found your answer! I am a real person who just 3 months ago was in terrible shape - Now, 3 months later I can honestly say I am in the best shape of my life! Here is a quick look at my past - In high school I swam competitively, I ran track, I lifted, though I never truly focused on my entire body. P90X incorporates Everything You Ever Need! From Resistance, to Kenpo Karate, to Yoga, to Focused Abs. Your whole body gets worked every week and the constant challenge and change to routine will keep everything new and fresh. When it comes to plateau P90X holds true to it's name and offers enough variety to prevent that dreaded plateau effect.
I am going to give you a quick recollection to my 3 phases and how I did in each. That way you can get an idea of what to expect and what you can do in your journey. It's really all about helping each other out - Here is part of my contribution!
Phase 1 - Started December 2008
This is where it all came together, I had P90X for a good 5 months previous to actually starting out. One day after setting my mind and deciding to go for it I just pushed play and never looked back. My first phase was really not all that planned out, My diet was lacking, I was out of shape, and I had no idea what I was doing. All that mattered to me was that I pushed play and was underway towards day 90.
My first week I went right into it as though I had been working out on a regular basis before starting. I would not recommend this approach to anyone else starting out. The best idea is to do what you can, get through the videos but don't over due it. I would even recommend that you stop each set before you reach a full burn. Look at the first week as a way to condition your body, mind, and spirit. This will make the second week much easier than mine. I was so sore I could hardly get out of a vehicle or bend over. My body hadn't been worked that much since high school 6 years ago!
My diet was also very poor in the beginning - I pretty much just pushed play one day and joined the BeachBody Coaching business without ever really planning anything out. So I just started running straight forward, that's how I tend to do things. I just decide I am going to do it and I stick it through to the end, regardless. Maybe it's my Aries tendencies?
Anyway - phase one was all about getting conditioned and learning each video. In the first Phase I would actually find it incredibly hard to complete back to back workouts - I would actually complete my main set like "Shoulders and Arms", wait a couple hours, then I would do Ab Ripper X while flopping around on the floor like a dying fish on a boat deck. It was tough! Believe me though, it does get easier!
Near the end of my first 30 days I began to see some serious results - Only 30 days into the program I was losing inches, getting ripped, but even more than the visible results; I felt better than I had in the last 4 years and that was enough for me - I was pumped for phase two!
Phase 2 - Started January 2009
After my first recovery week I was ready to go for phase two. I had taken pictures and noticed some serious results - But more so I felt better than I had in years! I knew that P90X was working, I knew that it was true to it's word. You see I'm a sucker for intense physical work. At this point I looked back at
my last several years - I had let myself go completely, I lost total focus on my fitness and well being, Heck I lost total direction of my life. I don't regret anything but I do wonder how I let myself loose focus for so long. After just 30 days and just into my second phase I was feeling incredible - I had a new lease on life and I became so much stronger than my first phase. My chin up numbers began to rise, as did my push ups.It was in phase two that I really began to focus on diet and nutrition. I made sure to include large amounts of protein throughout my day - Usually 140-160grams spread out. I began to use Creatine to help my muscle energy stores through the resistance training. Everything started to come together - Though phase 2 is similar to the first you mix it up with a couple different videos which keeps your body guessing. Though I was never sore as the first week in the program I was always a little sore after every exercise - I love that feeling because it's a feeling of accomplishment, that you did something good, that your pushing your body and achieving results.
The first week was practically debilitating, but after that it was cake. As phase 2 neared the end and I entered into my second recovery week, the same as the first, I began to really notice the visible results. My arms were growing, my shoulders and chest were becoming cut, veins were popping out, etc. It was incredible to see these results - Especially with the fact that I only had 10 and 15 lb weights at the time ( I would combine 10lb and 15lb in each hand to achieve 25lbs in curls and various other workouts. Not recommended!). Some moves were becoming rather easy and I was progressing into the 12-15 rep range which is more toning than mass building.
Phase 3 - Started Feb 2009
This is the real meat and potatoes of the program - if you made it this far you are feeling like a machine, you are getting totally ripped, and your reps are probably near double the first phase. It was about half way through phase two that I no longer used the chair to get reps in the chin ups - I was now strong enough to do at least 8 reps each set without failing and without a chair to support. In phase three my diet became a little unstructured again but not nearly the same as round one.
At this point my serving job was reduced to Thur-Sun and I no longer worked Volume shifts (Usually an 8-10 hour day with no breaks and very little food). My calories varied daily but I continued to eat clean (No Soda, No Fries, Low Fat, No Hydrogenated products, No Enriched products, etc.) The only thing I think I could really improve here is drinking more water. Some days I do great and other days I will only consume a couple glasses. But overall the diet was fine and within reason. I did end up with the flu in Week 11 and my progress was stumped. I took 3 workouts off during that week, When I was better I decided to just continue on the scheduled workout instead of pushing my journey. This was no little sinus cold - I suffered from complete body ache and literally couldn't turn my head because my neck was so stiff and incredibly sore. I slept for almost three days but once I recovered enough I jumped back in.
Though my diet was a little unstructured, I had the flu for a week, and my motivation was a little low I still kept pushing play when I could. Now here I am, day 90 and done the journey. My friends it was a beautiful ride and I am incredibly happy that I stuck through it.
Conclusion:
P90X (PX90) is exactly what it claims to be - If you like a good challenge you will find it here. Though P90X IS Intense it allows even the beginner to modify and adjust each move so that it can be completed. Tony does a great job at motivating and several times I find myself laughing at his dry sense of humor. I don't know, he reminds me a little of my dad, the same kind of jokes. The Muscle Confusion works - You are constantly challenged and never get the chance to plateau. I just love how P90X often uses plain and simple but proven moves to get you in shape and get you ripped.
The very first workout (Chest and Back) you do an hours worth of Push ups and Chin ups - Nothing complicated - No special machines - No fancy equipment. It's just your body, your will, and P90X. Bring it! That is why I am so in love with P90X, It's real, It's challenging, and it works. So as I said at the beginning - "It's like a Magic Mirror". 90 Days ago I looked in the mirror and saw what I wanted in 90 days, I envisioned my new body. Now I am here - I just brought it every day as much as I could and suddenly it's like "Magic" and I am here! I got the results I wanted, I am in killer shape, I am ripped, and I am so ready for more!
P90X isn't just something you do for 90 days, P90X or PX90 as some call is a lifestyle, it's a mind set that You Can Achieve Anything if you Just "Push Play"! Your new body will give you a new lease on life - The key to getting there though is to truly be happy with yourself right now. No matter who you are, whether you think you are a failure or not. You are Life, you are Conscious, You are Beautiful and Unique. So accept yourself, accept your new lifestyle, and Look in Your Magic Mirror.
To Your Success.
And Finally:
I told you at the beginning that I would tell you my new found "Purpose in life". It is very simple, I have found that helping others achieve their fitness and personal goals is as important as my own. You can't live your life by yourself, it's the people I met and the leaders I networked with that gave me the strength to lead and share with others. It is my new purpose to grow myself everyday and share that growth with others. Some have difficulty finding the will to push forward, I want to be that little shove that gets them in motion. You are truly able to manifest anythingyou believe in.
It is no joke or myth that anything is possible if you put your mind to it. We are very powerful and conscious beings, sharing life energy every day with each other, some realize this and others don't. I wish to help you help yourself, I don't wish to do thing's for people because that is not helping - My purpose is to awaken your inner being to life. Death is the ultimate teacher of Life - Imagine you had but just 60 seconds left to live. Ask yourself this - What would you do? If you can say honestly that you would simply love every moment of those mere seconds than you are truly on a path towards enlightenment.
Simply live and love every moment of every day, I can honestly find beauty in a single leaf on a tree, or a blade of grass, My purpose is to share this gift with others. It is a beautiful journey that we all poses - In the past I have been deeply lost within myself and my emotions, I had spent months of my life in utter depression and no will to live. Through it all I awakened and realize the beauty of every moment that I live. The purpose to life is not money, possessions, experiences, or anything fancy. The secret to life is realizing you are alive within and sharing this gift with others.

This is it - The End of the Beginning! This could be considered the ultimate update, perhaps the most important update I've ever made. This is my day 90!
Though I don't dance or do anything special like that, I do talk about my journey and where I am going from here - Check it out!
So I'm long winded and overly excited to be at Day 90! Here is the second half of my P90X (or PX90 as dyslexics like to call it) update.
The second most important update I have ever made! :)
P.S. Expect a full written review breaking down each phase through coming tomorrow - March 10th. I have nearly completed writing but I want to make sure it's comprehensive and full of value - Stay Tuned!

I'm looking out the window as I sip my coffee and open my eye's this morning.
This will be a full day of P90X - I have two workouts to complete, day 82 Legs and Back, and also Day 83 Kenpo. Yesterday I did not wake up with enough time to workout in the am and work went late into the evening, my energy was low and I decided to pick up today after a full nights sleep.
It's down to the last nitty gritty - I have only 7 days left and what a ride it has been- SO FAR! I will be doing a round two of the X but that is not until I complete a round of ChaLean Extreme ( Starts March 17th - If you wanna start with my ChaLean Team get in contact with me! 239-220-3529). In round two I will focus soley on diet and heavier weights. I had two 10's and two 15 pound dumbells for my first round, combined in each hand that gave me up to 30lbs though I do not recommend this. Combining weights adds extra stress to your wrists which can cause injury over time. I plan to purchase 2x 30lb and 2x 35lb for ChaLean, I think that should be sufficient. The other note I want to add is because of my lighter weights I found myself completing sets with the 12-15 rep rule more than the 8-10, I put on decent size in my arms though I know the results can be much, much, much greater. In round two I will also focus directly on the 8-10 because I will have more than enough weight in this round. Expect highlights for the X/X+ starting in June 09 - Until then it will be the final days of round 1 followed with a round of ChaLean!
I am just getting ready to do my legs and back routine - today I plan to really push myself in the chin ups, I am very curious to see how many reps I can pull off. I got my new P90X black sleeveless shirt so obviously I will do an automatic 10 more reps.... Kidding :). I will follow up with Ab Ripper and then later tonight I will be doing Kenpo (Expect an update later). Since I am pre-workout I don't really have much to tell you about my workout... However I will add that I have started working out in the am more or less and it has made my life sooooo much easier. The idea of getting the workout done and out of the way for the day really takes some unwanted stress away. Think about getting up and starting by 8-9am which will have you completed by 10-11am. It's such an amazing feeling to know you have worked yourself and you have the whole day to focus elsewhere instead of delaying your fitness. When working out in the morning though I am slow to get moving, I always feel like a million bucks for the rest of the day, always an added benefit!
One more update: So ChaLean Team Xtreme starts on March 17th, if you don't know what ChaLean is and you are interested, get in contact with me! My friend Charles and I will be going at it and dominating Youtube, please join our team if you want to have huge team support as you go through! I will be setting up a Facebook AND Mypace group, also there will be a Skype group chat for whenever you need support. I do recommend you get in the Beachbody club and community (You can do that on my blog - follow the "Join the Club - Maximize You Results" button on the right. We want to make sure all of our ChaLean Team Xtreme gets their workouts logged and hopefully we can find times that jive together so we can all bring it together!

Where to Buy P90X
This question may arrise from time to time so I thought I would answer it for you. I recommend you pick up your copy of P90X directly through the Beach Body store - You will get a true 90 day 100% money back garauntee with your purchse (Less S&H) and if you decide to return for what ever reason you will still be able to keep Ab Ripper X and the complete Nutrition guide.
I have warned you in the past so I will say it again - You can get your copy from Ebay or other online auction sites However, be very wary of fraud, in some cases I have heard of people getting some burned copies of P90X, or not receiving the full package. Keep in mind when you order from Beach Body directly you get the entire Brand New package and you will be assigned your very own coach. When it comes to buying from anywhere else besides Beach Body - You have been warned.
Step 1: Click Here to visit the official Beachbody website (will open in a new window).
Step 2: Scroll down the page until you see the “P90X Extreme Training System”, and click the “Shop Now” button to the right.
Step 3: Click the “Join Now” button at the bottom to create your Beachbody shopping account.
Step 4: Simply add the items that you want to order from Beachbody to your cart, and click the “Checkout” button.
In addition to buying the P90X home fitness program, there are a few other things I recommend:
- Get Signed up in the Beachbody Club
- The P90X Chin Up Bar
- Push-Up Stands
- Heart Rate Monitor
- Yoga Mat
- Plyometrics Mat
- Yoga Blocks
- Resistance Bands or Dumbbell
All of the above items can be ordered directly from Beachbody at the same time as your P90X order is placed and they’ll ship together. Some of those items are optional, but highly recommended if you want to get the best results from this program.
Just a quick post with my latest VLog!
It's 11:11 am
So many things have changed and so many things are fast approaching, I could easily become stressed and simply fall out of my goals. But I will not let this happen, my goals have become so real to me that I won't stop until they exist in my reality.
Today is Stretch X and I am excited for the relaxation this will provide, actually this will be my first time completing the workout. It seems every time before I have missed, my rest days are days off and my first rest week got a little hectic and messed up, which resulted in me not doing either Stretch X (Check my previous blog entries for the story).
I will be following up tonight or tomorrow with an update as to how everything went, since this is my first time through Stretch X I'm sure I will have lots to say.
For those of you getting into P90X I want to welcome you, this will be a journey unlike anything you have done before. My advice would be to accept your goals, live them everyday - I don't mean day dream and think what you want to be but, dream and Know You Are What You Want To Be!
Think about it, in your past when you accomplished things that seemed almost impossible or at least improbable. Before you achieved anything, didn't you spend hours a day and night thinking about what it would be like to be that person, or to have that possession?
I know out of personal experience that this is true - Growing up I was a skinny little kid, I stayed active and always had crazy adventures. As I got to the age of 9 years old I began to put on weight, soon I "ballooned" into an obese child shopping for clothes in the "Chunky" section. I was so unhappy with myself.
I was home schooled and had little self confidence, this also included very little skills when it came to interacting with others. I always dreamed of being someone special, someone that changed the world, someone that everyone knew with positive demeanor.
But I continued to over eat, get little exercise, and put very little investment in myself. By the age of 14 I injured my hip while bowling, I was attempting to throw a curve ball and while pivoting I actually slipped the top of my hip bone out of alignment (Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis). After going to the doctor and getting X-Rays I was told that this happens in overweight children do to soft cartilage that would eventually harden towards the end of puberty.
It was this instance in my life that I realized things had to change. From this point I became mad at myself and every day I envisioned my hip problem going away as though it never happened. I took it easy on my hip so it would not slip any further, it was that or get a pin inserted that would completely halt the growth of my left leg while my right leg continued. At one point in my life I actually rode in a wheel chair all around Disney World and walked with crutches to avoid further injury.
Once I reached the age of 15 things changed and my hip was solid, from this point I realized I could not live the life I had been living. I became obsessed with losing weight, I dieted every day, ran, rode my bike, blue berry raked (I'm from Maine Originally), and did whatever I could to put my body through intense work. I had almost become mad at myself and disgusted with myself for being who I was, all I could do is think of who I wanted to be and put myself in that mind set every day. Eventually the weight started to melt away and by the time I was 16 I had gone from 180lbs and a 36" waist down to 105lbs and a 28" waist.
Believe me I've done it all, I've dieted the right way, and I've also starved myself, and I've binged, I've designed my own programs, I've even pushed myself to near heat exhaustion because my will overpowered my senses.
My point to you is that no matter who you are, if you look at my pictures and see a skinny little white kid, I want you to understand that I am the way I am because I worked for it! I have the faith in you that you can do it too, you just have to accept who you want to be!
The point behind my story is that anyone can do anything if you have the right vision and the motivation to accept your new being. I will be glad to go into more detail for you if you would like to know more, my life is an open book, my body has gone from one extreme to the other and I would be glad to share my past with you.
P90X is my tool to get back the life I once had, the point at which I was in peak physical condition, and the point where I felt on top of the world. If you are overweight and want to lose it, I have been there and I understand. I fought through injury and my own internal demons to become a strong willed, passionate, and confident person. You can do it too!
P90X is a way to get there, with community support, a coach, and your personal drive there is nothing that can stop you now!
That is why I'm proud to call myself a Beachbody Coach, I can give back to those struggling with their own problems that need the support to push forward.
Do yourself a favor, picture the person you want to be, keep that imagine deep within your soul every day and every where you go. Live as though you are already that person, do the work everyday, eat clean everyday, and live without worry because, You Are already that person!

I may not be able to breath out my nose but I can still Bring it!
I completed Day 37 of my P90X journey this afternoon - My workout was Plyometrics. My heart rate stayed at a consistent 160-165bpm throughout the workout and everything felt pretty good or at least at good as it could for me being sick. I completed each set though I stumbled a little during the jump squats. I'm a little sore from Chest and Shoulders plus the cold has been throwing me off.
I didn't go into the workout with as much ambition and stamina as usually due to my cold, but the key factor is that I brought it never-the-less. There are some days that Will Be harder than others - Bring whatever you can and you will get results. Don't make excuses, stay accountable, and stay driven!
You have a long term goal here - Long term goals take time to achieve.
I could easily just say, "I have a cold and therefore I am going to take the day off" but I didn't! Do what you can when you can, if you feel 150% then bring 160%, if you feel 75% then bring 85%. Do what you can - Just don't give up!
I've been there before, wanting something but not actually being ready to accept what I had to do to get it. We all get there at some point in our lives, it doesn't matter who you are. What does matter is that you put that behind you, accept what it is that you have to do and do it, regardless!
I'm a P90X coach:
My next post will be all about Team Beachbody coaching. Here are a few highlights to expect:
- Who I am and Why I am a coach (There will be a Vblog)
- How helping yourself can help others
- Get in shape and make a living all at the same time
- Why you should be a coach
- How to become a coach and be a leader!
I'm feeling a little under the weather.
Sadly I have come down with a cold, so far my sinuses have all but closed off and my throat has been rather sore. It all came on out of no where - I went to bed Sunday night feeling fine, woke up around 3 am randomly and noticed my throat was pretty sore, from that point on it's been settling in.
No Stretch X for me
With that said I want to let you know that even though I had high hopes of completing Stretch X I did not do it. I decided a day of rest would benefit me much more. My recovery time has been longer since I have come down sick, my energy levels just plain suck, and my motivation is teetering on the edge.
I will not give in though, today is Ab X and Shoulders/ Arms - I think it will feel great to complete these workouts! I know I won't have 110% to bring but I am going to bring all that I have. I will do my best to forget how I feel and put myself in the moment of how I Want to feel!
Do what you can - Bring what you can - Just do it!
I will be updating in a couple hours after I complete my workouts - I have to wait another hour or so as I ate not to long ago. I will be including a Vblog update and also a new video project I am working on to incorporate my P90X and Marketing efforts into one.
I want to give a quick preview of what you can expect from my new project!
- Find ways to lose weight and mix up your new diet!
- Learn a new healthy meal or recipe
- Gain value in your personal and business developement
- Learn about marketing news, strategies, and resources
- etc.
Stay tuned...
I woke up last night with a sore throat.
I was a little scared this could turn into a cold or something unpleasant. the day has gone on and I feel fine, I'm not sure what the issue is but I think it's just a small bug. I'll keep you posted but I think I'm going to kick whatever this is in the next 24 hours!
Kenpo X - Day 34
I did my Kenpo X last night around 8 p.m. - I want to note that I had a very hard time getting my heart rate up to my target zone. I was hitting hard, I was kicking hard, I was moving and grooving - I don't really know what was up?
I actually started to go faster than the video pace when each set came up. I've done it enough times to know most of the moves so I just use the video as a fall back. Now this is only with Kenpo - The other workouts still keep me guessing and I like to use the video pace, especially in the resistance training.
I calculated my BPM (Beats per Minute) last night at each break and this is what I got.
- Break 1 - 140
- Break 2 - 148
- Break 3 - 152
- Break 4 - 136
I hit vertical punches at full speed right from the start - Instead of starting out slow.
Here is my Kenpo Day 34 afterthoughts:
Day 35 - Rest
So far today has been about rest and personal developement. I made a new content video explaining my morning/afternoon protein shake for those that were wondering. I'm going to make a new post dedicated to this new video. In the mean time I will be doing X stretch tonight before bed, that should be a relaxing end to my day.
Stay tuned
- This is going to be very quick as I don't have much time before work.
Day 31: Quick Update
I did my Ab X and Back-Biceps yesterday on schedule. Both went great and I had nothing new to report. Back-Bicep was a new one for me and it was full of some refreshing moves and some classics, no repeat sets in this one! Ab X was Ab X - I do need to get a better mat as I've noticed I feel like I'm working out directly on the floor during some of the moves. Being uncomfortable is never really fun when your trying to bring it.
Day 32: Yoga X
I am about to do my Yoga X and I expect some great results. Warrior three will probably still challenge me - But I'm ready and feeling very energized today! I only had 7 hours of sleep (I like to get 8-9) but I sprung out of bed this morning almost like I had taken an espresso shot in my sleep! Love those mornings! :)
I'll be at work all day today so that's why I'm throwing in a "Pre-Update" - Tomorrow or Sunday I will be adding some new video content. I have a 30 day video and will have at least one more update video from day 32 or 33.
